Stedman M. Ruiz, MS, PHR

Mr. Ruiz has over fifteen years of training experience and four years of recruiting experience and has conducted analysis and best practice research to support succession planning and change management efforts for public sector clients.  He has a Masters of Science Degree in Organization and Management, with a concentration in Human Resources Management.  His Master’s thesis examined the role of the Human Resources department in building and maintaining a strong corporate culture. Mr. Ruiz has extensive knowledge of adult learning theory and curriculum design.  He has successfully designed, developed and implemented multi-week programs for college and business applications with a focus on system analysis and change management and has designed and taught business and management courses on a variety of topics including sexual harassment, effective management, time management, and train the trainer.

Mr. Ruiz currently instructs students in all aspects of Human Resources processes and procedures with a primary goal of training dynamic human resource professionals who can comply with Federal and California State labor law and create best practices policy and procedure.  Specific topics include EEO, affirmative action, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA/CalOSHA, Workers Compensation, unemployment compensation, and compensation and benefits.  Over 80% of his students have obtained employment in the Human Resource field and proven themselves valuable assets to their companies.  Mr. Ruiz also plays a leadership role in campus and intercampus work groups on curriculum and design issues.

Recruiter and Trainer

Mr. Ruiz recruited and trained insurance agents in sales strategies as well as insurance products and administration.  He excelled at explaining complex benefit products and strategies to inexperienced trainees as well as to experienced agents who were acquainting themselves with new products. As a licensed insurance broker, Mr. Ruiz worked with life, health, and disabilities insurance packages as well as annuities, retirement plans, 401k’s and securities investments, which has provided him with in-depth knowledge of the costs and impacts of various components of employee benefit programs.
